What we believe
Emmanuel Apostolic Church is an Apostolic Church in worship, Word, and witness. We believe there is but One God (Deuteronomy 6:4) and that One God robed Himself in flesh and sacrificed that body on the cross to redeem fallen man. We believe the revealed name of God is Jesus and in that name salvation can be found by whosoever will (Acts 4:12). The scripture tells us the fullness of the Godhead dwells in him bodily (Colossians 2:9). Jesus is the image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:13-15). As He proclaimed He would, Jesus rose from the grave and now indwells the heart of the believer in the power of the Holy Ghost. We believe that salvation comes through experiencing the cross of Calvary through death, burial, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We must believe that He is (Hebrews 11:6), so faith is essential to salvation.
We must experience repentance or dying (death) to our “old life” of sin, turning from sin and turning toward Jesus (Acts 2:38; Romans 6:6; II Peter 3:9).
We must experience water baptism by immersion (burial) in the only saving name, Jesus (Acts 2:38; Acts 4:12; Acts 19:5; I Peter 3:20-21).
We also believe in experiencing the resurrection power of Jesus through the miracle of the infilling of the Holy Ghost that is evident by speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance (Acts 2:4; Acts 2:38; Acts 10:45-46; Acts 19:1-6).
Jesus taught the New Birth of water and spirit to be essential in His Kingdom (John 3:3-7; John 7:38-39).
The Apostles also confirmed this in their communication to the church (Romans 8:9; Titus 3:4-6)
We believe that those that have come to God in Bible salvation are new creatures in Christ (II Corinthians 5:17).
God’s grace teaches us and leads us into a separate life from the “old” life of sin and the sins of this world. We now are separated unto Him in a pursuit of holiness and righteousness that we find in Him (Romans 6:1-4; Titus 2:11-12; II Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 12:14).
We believe that Jesus is going to catch His church away in a rapture to take them to an eternal home He has prepared (John 14:2-3; I Thessalonians 4:16-17; Titus 2:13). We believe in a literal Heaven and a literal Hell. Heaven is for those who obey His Word concerning salvation and lifestyle. Hell is for the disobedient. Heaven will be eternal life and joy with Jesus. Hell will be a place of eternal torment totally alienated from God (Revelation 21:1-8; 20:12-15). We now live in the time of Grace as God’s mercy reaches for every soul not willing that any should perish (1 Peter 3:9).
But He will also, in His justice, sit in judgment of all mankind (Revelation 20:12-15).
We also believe we have been commissioned by Jesus to preach and teach these things He has revealed to us in His Word to the whole world (Matthew 28; Mark 16; Acts 1:8).
